Methodology
How We Score UK Casinos
Every casino on FavCasinos is scored on the same eight measurable criteria, weighted by how much each one actually affects your experience as a player. The overall score is calculated from the criteria scores — a weighted average, computed automatically. Nobody at FavCasinos can nudge a casino's overall number up or down; the only way a score changes is when the underlying facts change. This page explains exactly what we measure, how each criterion is banded, and what we check before a review goes live.
The Eight Criteria
Weights total 100%Weighted by impact and shown in weighting order. Tap any criterion to see how it is banded — the scoring ladder a casino is measured against. Where our bonus-fairness bands reference wagering above 10x, note that since 19 January 2026 UKGC Social Responsibility Code 5.1.1 has capped bonus wagering at 10x on in-scope bonuses — so any offer exceeding it predates or falls outside that rule.

Scoring bands
When two casinos finish on the same overall score, we break the tie by the highest-weighted criterion first — safety and licensing — and then work down the weighting order until one comes out ahead, so the casino that is stronger where it matters most ranks higher.
What We Don't Do
FavCasinos earns commission when you sign up with some of the casinos we review — that's how the site is funded, and every link to a casino is marked accordingly. What that commission never buys is a score. Operators cannot pay for placement, cannot pay to improve a number, and are scored on identical criteria whether we have a commercial relationship with them or not. Several casinos we review pay us nothing. If a scored fact is wrong, we want to know — and we'll correct the score, not defend it.
What We Verify Before Publishing
Before any review goes live: the operator's licence is checked against the UK Gambling Commission's public register — an unlicensed operator does not get listed, full stop. Bonus significant terms (wagering, caps, expiry, game weighting) are taken from the operator's published terms, not from marketing copy. Payout-speed scores are based on tested or independently verified withdrawal times. Each review shows the date its facts were last verified.
How Scores Change
Reviews are re-checked on a rolling cycle and whenever an operator materially changes its terms. When facts change, criteria scores change, and the overall score recalculates automatically. We don't quietly rewrite history: material score changes are dated.
